About Me

Me in sunglasses on a side walk, surrounded by a ringed border of Van Gogh's "Green Wheat Fields".

Hello from the other side of the screen! I’m Sydney Weigand, a 24-year-old graduate student with an interest in design. I’m a UGA alumnus with an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Art & Design, and I’m working on a masters in Emerging Media.

I currently work as the producer for a podcast run by my university called “People, Parasites and Plagues” where I help gifted scientists share their knowledge about frightening diseases and fascinating pests. My role involves scheduling, social media, all audio editing, and helping researchers communicate ideas in approachable ways. I’ve learned through this role that I’m pretty passionate about aiding in the dissemination of scientific knowledge to the general public.

If I’m not at work or school, I’m probably lost in a museum, reading Russian lit, or watching old creepy movies. “Heathers” is a personal favorite! Most of my free time is spent making art (I’m a relief printmaker by trade), and I’m a sucker for a good chat about art history.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions, job information, or if you’d like to challenge me to a Star Wars trivia competition (good luck). I’d be thrilled to make your acquaintance!
